“Listen on the Internet with Eldy” (“Let us feel the net”) brings the visually impaired to the Internet
The aim of “Listen on the Internet with Eldy” Project was, virtual barriers, overcome to prevent use some groups of people on the innovative technology.
This project was the development of “Eldy – Keep in touch on the Net”, software, for elderly and partially sighted, so that they learn, how to use technology created a simple and fun way, thanks to an intuitive user interface, Because large buttons undgeführten.
Eldy PLATFFORM FOR THE BLIND: The new software (completely free) was made specifically for the blind and visually impaired people, to enable them, integrate in society and to keep in touch with the community.
The new version is up Eldy software and a vocal synthesizer capable of, made to read the words on the screen, and with some combinations of keys, benefit of this category of people using the Internet, E-Mail, Chat reduction, Wine knowledge digital divide.
Volunteer: Association Eldy, with the sponsorship of the Province of Vicenza, has free courses organized, to train a few volunteers, to assist blind people to start their computer experience. It was a positive opportunity for many young people to help, People to be more integrated in the world, where the use of technology as a fundamental element has, whereby a community, where each, with Handicap, can interact.
AWARD: The project was shown addressed by the EU as best practice cases to reduce the digital divide and won the Italian “Handimatica Award” for digital inclusion.
RESULTS: Associazione eldy this was an important step, to make people understand the importance of the integration of people with disabilities some, because they also have the right and ability, play an important role in society.
BASE (Base English for Deaf Adults) International Project
BASE is an ongoing project; Eldy is the education of deaf people with Eldy platform and e-learning methodology.
The starting point is the usability and the six keys of Eldy for tablet (Eldy App), associated with the sign language for the deaf (ASL).
